A trilogy documentary on The Northern Roots project which creates UK’s largest urban farm and eco-park on 160 acres of urban greenspace in the heart of Oldham. A unique community hub and visitor destination.
It builds on existing community growing and food projects like our Growing Hubs, the Green Dividend and Get Oldham Growing.
In the first half of this trilogy, we view the past on how it all started through the lens of Carol Talbot, a renowned and published author, as she takes us through the life and times of Mary Higgs, the very first #NorthernRooter. We also interviewed a Salford university's senior lecturer and proud researcher on climate change, the future of our planet and Northern Roots.
